We've Elected Trump: Now What?

The election has, with the exception of the counting of some more ballots, been dispersed with
nothing left but a frightening future. As a Democrat, I’ve lived through some disappointments.
But I’ve never been as fearful as I am now of another Trump presidency. But this one is different
than all of the others, and far more dangerous.

It isn’t just Democrats and the Press who have opposed another Donald Trump victory. Many
Republicans have refused to support him, especially people like Arnold Schwarzenegger, former
Vice President Dick Cheney, former Wyoming Republican Representative Liz Cheney, and many
more. People in Trumps cabinet such as former Defense Secretary like Mark Esper had called
him a “threat to democracy, and former Vice President Mike Pence who received death threats
from those who overran the Capital who warned the electorate of what he might do.
Now, those who Trump believes have not given him the support he requires are in his sights.
CNN, CBS, CNN, Fox News and others have aired Trump himself stating that he would be
willing to use the military and the DOJ to go after those who he deems disloyal, or as he labels
them, the threat from within. Included within his focus, of course, are Democrats and others who
have warned us of the dangers of another Donald Trump presidency. There is nothing he won’t
do if he believes it will benefit him.

Then there is the coup. By eliminating many of the more highly ranked military leaders and replacing them with his cronies, he may find success. There are members of the military who would gladly obey Trump in his wishes to overthrow the government, and if he goes forward, say goodbye to the Constitution.

He and other Republicans also want to dismantle the Dept of Education. Does this seem innocuous? Read what comes next in the following article.

What if Trump Wins in 2024?

 2  Nov 2024

I've worried about another Trump presidency for months. Friends have tried to reassure me. "Trump won't win." But I don't feel assured. Though a great number of the old guard Republicans have turned against Trump and are spending thousands on anti-Trump commercials, seemingly with no effect.

It doesn't matter than Trump is a liar. I mean half of what he says are lies and the rest isn't true. MAGAs point the finger at Biden and call him a liar, and he does spin the truth occasionally finessing his numbers, but nothing like Trump. At first I thought that Trump simply forgets what the truth is, but now I believe that he knows exactly what he is saying and what his words will do. The world witnessed him telling his followers "fight like Hell," and they did.

To some, it doesn't matter that Trump childishly calls world leaders silly names. It doesn't matter that his past administration was a revolving door with members not only quitting but also warning voters about who Trump really is and the damage he is capable of doing. It doesn't matter that he was impeached twice. He kept and hid sensitive documents and allegedly discussed nuclear submarines with an Australian billionaire. But to those who aren't just wanting a guy who will shake things up, all of this matters.

Trump will continue to reduce taxes on the very richest people in the country which is one of the major causes of our deficit. Individual earners with families making $50,000 pays 22% in taxes. So a person with a family who makes $50,000/year will pay $11,000 in taxes leaving them with $3,250/month. Paying at least $1500 for rent or a house payment, $400 for food, $350 automobile payment, $300 in medical insurance, $500 in auto and property insurance and $250 in utilities leaves that family with virtually nothing. They will need to trim their expenses, cut back on food, drive a used car, and discontinue. medical insurance  just to make a living.

A person making $2,000,000 after taxes will net  $113,333/month. Doubling the expenses of the person making $50,000, would equal $6100 in monthly expenses. The person making $2,000,000 will still have $107,233/month. My calculations did not include deductions.

The exploding deficit needs to be addressed, and the last thing we should do is reduce taxes again. Trump left us with a deficit in excess of  $7.8 Trillion, and much of that was his tax reduction. The deficit now is more than we spend on the military. But reducing taxes for the wealthy is exactly the wrong option. We cannot afford this now and we cannot discontinue assisting the poor. We have all seen what inflation is doing and many more are falling into poverty. Those who want to discontinue helping the poor are cutting their own throats. Consider what will happen.

    1. More people will not be able to pay for goods and services.

    2. Local businesses will fail eliminating employees with more people falling into poverty, becoming incapable of paying for what they need.

    3. More businesses will fail with the same results.

    4. People will not be able to see doctors and end up in emergency rooms. This will reduce hospital income resulting  in layoffs, reducing services with the probability of closing. There will be more people who will not be able to purchase the items that once kept businesses alive. Then the same results will continue.

This has happened in places where the income gap has increased to the point where there is no middle class. There are actions where the income gap can be reduced. It takes education and stimulus for new technology. That's where we have grown in the past and we will need to continue in these actions.

People who create products; who create companies that hire American workers and pay them decent wages, and those who work to make American lives better deserve more money. Remember though, that workers who go to work five or more days a week, use all of their intellect, and work hard deserve a good livable income as well. Many of those people are falling into poverty as prices skyrocket.

Trump and others do not seem to understand that there are many consequences of seemingly simple actions. Just because he says he does means nothing. I don't believe he even cares.

The characteristic I fear most about Trump is that he is an expert in planting seeds in his speeches. And there are many who believe everything he says, Some believe that he is the next Jesus Christ. It is not important that he has abused women and brags about it, or that he has cheated people out of hundreds or even thousands of dollars. It doesn't matter that he has committed fraud 34 times by falsifying business records just in the Hush Money Case. It doesn't matter that he may get a reduced sentence and even only pay a fine. He will take this and tell the voters that he is not guilty. But he has been found guilty on every count.

He took secret documents and lied saying he hadn't, then that they were his to keep. There can be no doubt that he attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 election. We all heard what he said to the crowd on January 6, 2021, and we saw the results. The traitors weren't blowing kisses at each other. They tore into Capital Building resulting in injuries, extensive damage and even two deaths, all in an effort to change the vote.

We have seen what Trump can do and we can never allow him to be President of the United States again. There are some who say they can't vote for Harris because of the multitude of lies floating around about her. She has been called "low IQ," a communist, and a socialist. Currently, Republicans are lying the asses off and they do this because they have nothing to offer.
